Characteristics Of The Zodiac Moon In Gemini

The Sun is the planet that zodiac novices are most interested in. But the moon is equally important in a chart. This planet relates to the world of emotions, including the nature embedded by nature, nurture and memory. It resides in the subconscious and deals with how a person relates to those around them. The characteristics in this sign might not be apparent to the person they refer to since they reside so deeply in the mind. Others are often better able to recognize these traits, as they are put out there into the world more than they are reflected upon.

A zodiac chart with the Moon in Gemini represents a mind that can absorb and process thoughts and information quickly. This is often expressed verbally through articulate speech and a quick wit. This person favors the head over their heart, and treats emotions as a whimsical side act to their probing intellect. They are quite perceptive and are able to analyze a wide variety of situations rapidly. Their mind may be so fine tuned that those around them are unaware of how quickly it truly is coming to conclusions and making deductions.

Friendly, outgoing, and generally happy this person easily attracts friends and lovers. A natural communicator, this person loves to be around people and the feeling is mutual. Writing is also a talent of those under this sign. Mental connections with others hold more weight than those of an emotional nature. If you would like to catch (and keep) the attention of someone under this sign, appeal to their intellect and prove that you can hold your ground in the mental arena. Remember those old Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy movies where clever words were used as foreplay? The writer probably had their Moon in Gemini. Conversely, all of those movies where true love saves the day were probably not written by a person with this sign.

Because the mind comes over emotion, the experiences of this person tend to be novel and varied- lacking depth and emotional attachment. Their moods are so changeable it can cause a nervous aura around them. Their energy can scatter and spread thin. A restless nature pushes them forward in search of a new challenge or experience. They don't seek out experiences out of a need for success or material wealth. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it is the life force for those with a Moon in Gemini.

Their ability for learning often causes them to be students of life. Observation, reasoning and instinct trump all other things. This can lead to a demeanor that appears without passion. But a fantastic sense of humor, and stellar insight into the minds of others, allow this person to draw people in and keep them around. The security of a family life and home are viewed as more of a hindrance than a benefit. There are a lot of areas this person would like to explore in their short life and anything that ties them down and seems to prevent them from this explorative freedom is not going to be kept around for long.

Animal Shelters Are Very Important, Especially to Cat Lovers

There was once a time where shelters for animals are just places where people can dump the animals and leave them into hands of fate, whether if they die or if someone else comes along and save them. Over the years, shelters have improved dramatically, and now, it is more than just a dumping ground for strays.

In these shelters, cats that have no homes are taken in and cared for, instead of being just left to die. They are well treated, and well cared for. Some shelters provide very good services and nutrition for these cats. Even hygiene at the shelters is well maintained, which provides a healthy living environment for the cats or dogs, which are separated to make things easier for the cats.

Numbers of strays are increasing, and shelters cannot handle too many animals, as it is a nonprofit organization. Therefore, for people who are looking for pets and yet do not fancy anything too expensive or purebreds, shelters have excellent adoption programs that enables them to bring a pet home from the shelter, most of the time for free. These programs are partnered with media channels to gain recognition, and so that the public can contact them for adoption procedures.

More and more animals are getting picked up from the shelter each year, as shelters now provide very good living standards for the animals that some people even consider the shelter before the pet store when thinking of getting a pet. There are many cases where pet owners chose their pets from shelters and bond just as well with them, and share a happy life together.

Usually, cats in shelters are not that fanciful. They may be cats of a more common breed, or even cross-breeds. If you are torn between choosing beautiful cats in the pet shop or these homeless cats, think of the fact that you will be able to provide them a good home and save them from the cruel fate of euthanasia if the shelter gets overcrowded.

Shelter animals will provide some problems, such as diseases and stress. Cats from shelter with stress are at higher risk than others of contracting respiratory infections. They are more liable to bite and scratch before you two have bonded. Therefore, if you have decided to adopt a cat from the shelter, get it to a veterinarian and test for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). See below for more information on Animal Shelters.

Music Mixing Tips - A Few Tips on How to Produce Music

You have just written a really good song, perhaps your best yet, but the process is not over. You have to mix the song next. This is the point where I used to feel pretty annoyed by my music mixing techniques and all momentum and happy feelings that came from creating something would disappear. I could write song easily enough but when it came to music production I didn't have a clue. I was too proud to ask someone for music mixing tips or music production tips and nobody seemed to have the answers I was looking for. This is why now that I can mix my own songs; I thought I would put together some of my own music mixing tips and music production tips to consider before you start you journey into music production.

Make sure you listen to more than one genre - You should listen to more than one genre to make your palate as full as it can be; it will also teach you how to produce music without you being consciously aware of it. You do not need to like what you listen to as there are many things to listen to with each song. Be that, mixing/effect styles and what the overall effect of this will create, relationships between notes, relationships with tempos and atmosphere, and so on. A lot can be learnt from breaking your listening patterns.

Delete bad quality audio - The first lesson at any music production school or university of music is, if you have a recording and it is bad quality and it always catches your ear and you are not happy with it, throw it away and rerecord it. You should never believe that music production can cure any audio quality issues you have; they will always be bad whatever you do.

Have a song finished before you start any mixing - Before you start any mixing (excluding minimal reverb perhaps) make sure that the song you are working on is finished. Do not start to mix the song when you have got just the intro or verse recorded/written. This is the key to how to produce music; the mixing process is as if you are highlighting aspects of a holiday you have been on to friends. The holiday would of course be the written song. You cannot talk about a trip you have not been on. Do NOT mix anything before you have written the song. If you feel you really need to, then something is wrong and you need to find some new Vsts, find a better way to record, improve your playing on the instrument you are using or find a surrogate template song to mirror until you are writing songs on your own I.E Find a song you like, and "rip it off" as a lesson for yourself. That is a widely used method that people do not often put in their music production tips or music mixing techniques but everyone does it they just do not like to talk about it; do not beat yourself up over it, just know once you are more confident you will not rely on this method.

Security Training Courses - Important Preparing for an Effective Security Occupation

Security training courses are one of the most practical trainings to undertake given that careers for safety personnel are more available today. If you are seriously considering having a job in this industry, here are a few points to consider.

What are my options when it comes to security training?

Conventional and online methods are both available. In a conventional method, the training resembles a classroom setup. Students who take the classes should go to a physical location where there might be multiple lecture rooms. An instructor will be present to give classes. You will likely see fellow trainees and get to speak with them in person.

In an online option, students can attend classes anytime. You can do this at home or even in a cybercafe if you like. Classes given are likely in a video setup in some instances and in a real-time chat class if the instructor requires it.

In a video class, you just click the start button to begin watching and listening to the instructor. You can pause, rewind, and replay the class over if you need to. In a chat setup, the instructor will go online simultaneously with the students and hold the classes.

Whether you are in an online security training course or in a school-type setup, expectations are the same when it comes to requirements. Both require students to turn in their individual homework and pass the necessary tests. Both setups also mandate students to read related outlines or materials so they can have added information.

How will the security training courses run?

Several periods divide these courses. Some periods may take weeks to complete depending on the course outline. Once you enroll in a particular period, you should finish whatever requirements are necessary on that allotted time.

Depending on the training school you sign up with, some may allot several subjects in one training period. Others may divide these into groups over several periods.

What are usual available classes?

Available classes for security training involve various aspects. The basics include an introduction to the security industry, effective communication, report writing, health and safety, basic security procedures, sensitivity training, and emergency preparedness. It also involves lectures about law, legal authorities, and the legal system.

The basics cover what you will need to know about the job you are getting into. It covers the expectations and risks you may have to encounter while you are on duty. These teach you on how to be effective and how to maintain professionalism.

The next part covers the legal aspect of the career. These include the legislations covering the job. It also details the legal authorities you may have to work with and the law provisions for security aspects.

As you formally join classes, the instructor in-charge will further breakdown each topic for the students. This means having lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer instances for these subjects. As a student, it's your role to pay attention to all these. Paying attention means better chances to absorb all the knowledge the instructor imparts.

The reputation of the training school is a primary consideration whether you are going for an online security training course or for another option. Competency is vital so that when you finish the course, you will be fit for the job.

Help - I Need a Sample Special Education 10 Day Written Request Letter!

Are you the parent of a child receiving special education services that is considering placing your child in a private program, for denial of a free appropriate public education (FAPE)? Would you like to have a sample letter that will help you in your advocacy? This article will include a sample of a letter that will help you in your fight for an appropriate education for your child.

Mr. Stone Special Education Coordinator Seagull School District 1200 Rock Rd. Seagreen Il. 60902

Date: June 25, 20___

Dear Mr. Stone:

This letter is to notify you that we are placing our daughter Gwen (Date of Birth 06-02-20__) in a private school (called Hope Academy), and will be seeking reimbursement for the placement, due to the fact that the school district is denying my child's disability, and found her ineligible for special education services. This ineligibility is denying our daughter a free appropriate public education!

When Gwen was in Early Intervention we participated in all of the transition meetings. We made sure that the schools representative had copies of all of Gwen's evaluations, that had been done up to that point. A domain meeting to discuss testing was held, which my husband and I participated in. We totally disagreed with the IEP team that Gwen did not need further testing to see if she was eligible for special education services. The IEP team then stated that Gwen was ineligible for special education services; which we also disagreed with. Gwen has now been without her needed special education services for over 6 months and we see regression in what she is able to do and communicate!

Gwen has had several Early Intervention and private evaluations where she was diagnosed with: Receptive-Expressive Language Disorder, Severe developmental delays in several areas, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, and fine motor difficulty. All of the evaluators agree that Gwen has several disabilities and that she requires special education services to benefit from her education! Also, a long list of recommendations was totally ignored by the school district.

In a recent US Supreme Court ruling the justices found that: A reading of the Act that left parents without an adequate remedy when a school district unreasonably failed to identify a child with disabilities, would not comport with Congress's acknowledgment of the paramount importance of properly identifying each child eligible for services.

Because of this ruling my husband and I are eligible for reimbursement of private school expenses because our daughter is being denied FAPE, and because we believe that Hope Academy is an appropriate placement for her. We are enclosing information on the Hope Academy with this letter.

Please let us know if you would like to evaluate Gwen because we would be happy to make her available to you.

Acting Book Review - De Niro - A Biography

Usually, the main problem associated with unauthorized biographies of famous people, is that the author of the work has a specific agenda that he is trying to convey of that person. However, John Baxter's biography of the both enigmatic and iconic actor Robert De Niro gives an almost completely unbiased approach to his life and craft. His book also serves as more than just a biography of a popular actor, but a thorough account of the people, events, and history that shaped the American film landscape of the second half of the previous century.

Born in New York to artists, Robert had little interest in acting until the moment he mentioned to a friend of his, after seeing a film, that he "wanted to do that." As a teen and young adult he did his rounds in New York with many other actors and film makers, like Scorsese, De Palma, Pacino and Keitel. He did his share of plays and small films. Being a student of Stella Adler, De Niro believes in the supremacy of the character, over the Strasberg approach of bringing personal items to one's performance. He would so wrap himself in his characters that people who worked with him would have no idea who the real De Niro was on set. He would appear aloof if he appeared at all between takes. While he may not be classically trained as an actor, as Kenneth Branagh would report from the set of Frankenstein, no one worked harder. He believes that he needs to earn the right to play the character. For The Deer Hunter, he spent months in a Pennsylvania coal mining town. For Raging Bull, he put on 40 pounds and fought 500 exposition rounds of boxing. For The Godfather Part II (he read for Michael in Part I) he traveled to Sicily and picked up the dialect.

He was so enveloped in his approach that equally as idiosyncratic artists, like Martin Scorsese, would immediately be drawn to him. There is little doubt that the 1976 film Taxi Driver cemented De Niro and the other sons of New York on the Hollywood landscape. Jodi Foster, then 14, remembered rehearsing and rehearsing the pivotal diner scene with him. She admitted that she was at the point of boredom, she had done it so many times. That is when she got the epiphany that that is precisely what needed to be done to do a scene as well as De Niro.

No accurate biography is completely lauding and Baxter addresses De Niro's failures on and off screen. He has had his flops, (Cannonball Run, The King of Comedy, Rocky and Bullwinkle,) and for a time he was billed as the most successful unprofitable actor in Hollywood. From what Baxter could glean from his tight lipped approach to his personal life, it has been a rocky one. Moving from one unsuccessful relationship to another, Baxter also alludes to the fact that he was doing cocaine with Robin Williams and John Belushi the night he died in Bungalow 3 at the Chateau Marmont.

The only shortcoming of this book is perhaps the largest puzzle of all. Mentioned early, Baxter claims that the reason why De Niro is such a good actor is that he garnered the impetuous from his father. Not that Robert De Niro Sr. openly embraced his son's profession, but that De Niro Jr. was driven to the world of make-believe as a youth to pretend that his father was normal. An unsuccessful painter, De Niro Sr. spent some time in a few artist communes in upstate New York and Baxter conjects he had various "intimate" relationships with other male artists. Baxter also suggests that it was his own father's failures that drove Robert De Niro Jr. to work harder to become successful.

De Niro: A Biography contends that this man, so unassuming in real life, is able to captivate his audience with his pure and unadulterated gravitas. Seeing how he has been on the A+ list for over 40 years and many of his films are already considered classics, it is not hard to see that this assertion is true.

Concrete Buckets and Concrete Forms - 2 Important Concrete & Masonry Tools

Building a house or an office is no joke. A lot of effort must be exerted to make sure that your home or office is made with durable materials as well as ensuring that your contractor is efficient and knowledgeable. You need to make sure that the materials used in making your home or office doesn't go to waste.

This is one of the reasons why most people go over-budget when constructing any type of structure. Construction materials like cement and concrete mixing are the things that commonly get wasted if not stored or used efficiently.

Workers usually spill large amounts of concrete whenever they try to fill in a pillar or a base. This add additional expenses for you. Luckily, you don't need to worry about that anymore because this can be now prevented.

You can actually use concrete buckets and concrete forms to make sure that no concrete goes to waste, and filling in all of the important parts of the building will also be faster. The concrete buckets and concrete forms are actually the simplest tool that you will see, however both are also the most important tool in concrete and masonry work.

With the help of the concrete buckets you can easily move large amount of concrete without needing to put too much force. You can even move around a full bucket of concrete to higher places, but you will need to use a crane to be able to do that!

Using concrete buckets is the most efficient way of making sure no concrete mixing goes to waste. This is actually applies when you are using concrete forms for your home and office's concrete forming. Usually we use plywood to form pillars and braces. What usually happens is that plywood can't support large amounts of concrete mixes and it often leaves rough and uneven surfaces.

By using concrete forms like steel and plastic forms, you can make sure that no spills will happen. Also, the best part of using the form is that you will have a smooth and even surface after you have filled the concrete to the form.

Now, if you would want to make sure that your money is going to the right place, then you should make sure that you use both of these great concrete and masonry tools for your construction plans!

Key Strategy to Winning in Squash

The key strategies to winning a squash match are: 1. To first recognize what sort of opportunity you have or do not have. To do this you will have to look to see where your opponent is standing on the squash court and if they are balanced or not. If they look off-balance this is the time to play an attacking or forcing shot. If they are leaning forward and balanced then you must rally or force your opponent to the back of the court, making sure the ball you choose to hit goes BY them. Attempting to hit the squash ball to the back of the court and your opponent cutting the ball off simply means THEY have NOT MOVED much, and YOU will probably HAVE TO MOVE a great deal and possibly very quickly as they will be volleying the ball.

2. I actually like to explain the strategies like this. I want to play the ball from the middle of the court and make my opponent play from the four corners. I also want to always execute the sort of shot that allows me to recover to the "T" and get balanced before my opponent strikes the ball. This is a very subtle concept and I like to think of it as "covering my rear end" It works like this in squash, if I am close to the "T" or center I can afford to hit the ball hard and attempt top attack. Once I am a couple of steps away from the "T": I have to be much more circumspect about the squash shot that I choose and it's execution. I need the shot to buy me time and allow me to recover, if it does not do this then all it means is I will be running faster than I want and definitely getting the worse end of the rally.

Imagine you are playing squash and standing on the "T." You are wearing shorts with no underwear! Now if you hit the ball from "T" area all is fine, but as you have to play the ball from further away from the "T" your shorts start to fall! When you are running hard into the corner to retrieve a ball your shorts are around your ankles and you are seriously "Mooning" the crowd! Recognizing this predicament will cause you to play a slow defensive shot that absolutely will get you enough time to get back to the "T" recover, and pull your shorts up!

If you only remember this one strategy when you play you will always be playing your opponent and the situation not the "correct" shot, this will lead you to play effective, winning squash.

The Joy of Aging by PV Ramamurti - Book Review

The Joy of Aging by Prof PV Ramamurti. Published by the Dept of Psychology, SV University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh India. 2009

This important addition to the field of Psycho-social Gerontology was released in December 2008. Let us take a quick pre-view on its contents:

The first chapter sets the scenario, by ending the chapter with the central teaching of the entire book: "Practicing positive thinking and making it an all time habit is the key to keep mental and physical health." Chapter two gives statistics about older persons in India and the world. Next chapter deals with changes in the body functions as we age. All systems - Cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular-skeletal, digestive, excretory, reproductive, sense organs (like skin, eyes, ears, taste, smell) are covered. Chapter 4 deals with factors leading to good health like hygiene, surroundings, ventilation among others. Many hints are provided for diet in old age in the next chapter. "Keeping fit" talks of Yoga Exercises and what not? Chapter 7 describes living arrangements for the elderly, such as, living with the family, living in old age homes, availing oneself of paid care services or day care services. Criteria for choosing various types of stay are explained. Another important aspect, Money, is discussed in chapter 8. Here, savings, pension, income generation activities and cost of maintaining health are taken up.

Managing Leisure, managing disabilities of old age and developing an interest in spirituality are explained in subsequent chapters. A self assessment Scale for assessing physical disability in Chapter 11 is very useful. It is simple and easy to use. Excellent tips are offered for maintaining interpersonal relations: this chapter especially addresses weaknesses of older persons and shows how to tackle ageism issues. The most important chapter, chap 13, "building a happy mindset, explains Trigunas of thought and how to make Satvik type of thinking a permanent way of life. Care and welfare of older persons comes next. Rights and responsibilities of senior citizens, National policy directives are listed. The last chapter Epilogue re-emphasizes how developing a permanent positive mindset is absolutely essential to enjoy old age.

As a sort of lagniappe author adds a series of five Top ten listings:

I like this book because
